History Being Made
Our roots date back more than 115 years.
Before we were known as Bunzl Retail Services, we were called Schwarz Supply Source. In the beginning, we first opened the doors of a small Chicago storefront in 1907 as a supplier of paper and packaging products to local businesses. Over the next 100 years, Schwarz Supply quickly came to be recognized as the leading retail supply company in the U.S.
Becoming a global company with worldwide reach.
In 2013, Schwarz Supply was acquired by Bunzl PLC, a provider of one-stop shop, on-time and in-full specialist distribution services across more than 30 countries, supplying a broad range of internationally and responsibly sourced non-food products to a variety of market sectors.
Adding even more retail supplies experience and expertise.
Over the next several years, Bunzl brought together previous and new acquisitions to form together Bunzl Retail Services, a fully expansive portfolio of products and services for North American retailers. Companies included Diversified Distribution Systems (DDS), CDW Merchants, Keenpac, Retail Resource LP, and Christine Taylor Collection, among others. Together, with the power of a global supply network, Bunzl Retail Services was poised to offer retailers with the greatest amount of resources of any retail supplies provider.
